The Greater Pittsburgh Suzuki Institute (GPSI), now in it's 17th year, is an intimate summer music camp for students and teachers of the Suzuki Method. GPSI takes place every year on the campus of the Winchester-Thurston School in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh, PA. We offer a day program for students and teacher trainees, with arrangements at a local suite hotel and Airbnb for those from out of town. We will offer a buddy program for students ages 7-12 years whose parents are unable to attend with them. More information.
Jumpstart your summer by growing your musical skills in a fun group setting with friends! Each evening of camp will include:
▪ Ensemble Playing ▪ Music Games & Influences
▪ Rhythm & Theory ▪ Solfege & Ear Training
Jam Camp focuses on group activities and group performing, giving the students a break from the focus of solo playing which is typical during the school year. Arrive 15 minutes early if you’d like to eat pizza! And if you play a secondary instrument at school, bring it for Ensemble class! For students playing at the equivalent of Suzuki mid-Book 1 and up, all ages.
It takes place on Thursdays, June 13, 20, and 27, 5:30-7:30. Cost is $90 for all 3 evenings. Register with your Community Music School of Pittsburgh teacher or email info@CMSPgh.org.
